E-Tec 505 is a dry, soft-film solvent-based lubricant and rust and corrosion inhibitor for ferrous and non-ferrous metals that produces 18 hours of salt spray. Meets military spec for water displacement (Mil-C-16173D, Grade 3).

E-Tec 505 is specifically formulated for hot black oxide lines because it is extremely stable. Absorbs up to 5% by weight sodium hydroxide and retains its properties. Leaves a thin, transparent film which seals out moisture and is continuous, polar, and non-conductive. Will not gum under high humidity or temperature. Harmless to plastic, rubber, paint, and certain silicones. Can be applied to wet or dry metal parts while in process or storage.
