E-Chrome Ultra Blue High Corrosion Resistant Trivalent Blue Chromate

E-Chrome Ultra Blue trivalent blue chromate passes 150 hours salt spray to white rust (corrosion) and 160-200 hours to red rust (corrosion) per ASTMB-117. No additional top coat is required to obtain this high degree of corrosion resistance.

E-Chrome Ultra Blue is a true blue color that does not exhibit a yellow hue like other blue trivalent chromates.

E-Chrome Ultra Blue is a two component chromate.

E-Chrome Ultra Blue 2% by volume  1-3% by volume
E-Chrome Ultra Blue HP 2% by volume  1-3% by volume

 

Step by Step Application
Plating on zinc-plating surfaces with E-Chrome Ultra Blue is accomplished as follows:

  1. Zinc plate parts to .0003". The brightness of the final finish will be directly related to the brightness of the plated surfaces.

  2. Cold water rinse

  3. 1% by volume Sulfuric Acid or Nitric Acid rinse to neutralize residual plating solution

  4. Cold water rinse

  5. Immersion in E-Chrome Ultra Blue solution for the length of time required to produce the desired finish.

  6. Cold water rinse

  7. Hot Air Dry – 150° F

TIME:20 seconds  1-40 seconds
AGITATION:Air agitation may be helpful in rack situations

* Lower pH with Nitric Acid; raise pH with Ammonium Hydroxide
