E-Kleen 111 — Heavy duty, granular, high caustic, non-silicated metal cleaner for steel and copper used at 6 to 16 oz/gal. Temperature: 160° to 200° F.

Steel E-Kleen 115 — A combination alkaline soak cleaner and deruster for steel.  It is a heavy-duty, highly caustic product which also contains the necessary ingredients to simultaneously remove light to mild rust.  It produces in one step the results expeced from a combination cleaning step followed by an acid pickle to remove rust. The steel surface is not subject to flash rust as an acid pickled surface would be. Used at 10 to 16 oz/gal in water 160° F

E-Kleen 120 — Heavy duty, strong alkaline, highly conductive reverse current metal cleaner for steel. Granular mixture used at 8 to 16 oz/gal. Temperature 180° to 200°F. Current density of 50 to 140 amps/sq.ft. at 4 to 6 volts.

It also makes an excellent soak metal cleaner because it is very free rinsing, effective in hard water, and buffered to maintain its alkalinity for long solution life. It is the preferred soak cleaner to be used without an intervening water rinse prior to an electrolytic solution of
E-Kleen 120.

Zinc Die Castings E-Kleen 125 — A powdered mixture of surface agents, detergents, suspension agents and buffers which is dissolved in water for the fast effective cleaning of copper, brass, steel and zinc diecast.

This highly buffered material is recommended as a heavy duty electrolytic and soak metal cleaner which will not attack zinc die-castings or slush castings.

It electrolytically removes smut while preventing the redeposition of soils and preparing the surface for electroplating.

E-Kleen 125 is the preferred soak metal cleaner to be used without an intervening water rinse prior to an electrolytic solution of E-Kleen 125.

It can also be used as an electrolytic or soak cleaner for copper, brass and steel.

E-Kleen 125 Operating Parameters - Electrolytically

Concentration: 4 to 10 oz/gal. of water
Temperature: 140° to 200° F
Immersion Time: 15 seconds to 2 minutes for zinc, copper, and brass
1 to 5 minutes for steel
Polarity: Anodic (reverse current)
Current Density: 10 to 30 asf zinc, copper
50 to 100 asf steel

Lower temperatures (140° to 160° F) may be required with copper and brass. There will be some mild oxidation (darkening) of the copper and brass surfaces during electrolytic cleaning. These oxides are easily removed with a short acid pickle prior to electroplating.

When used as a soak metal cleaner the concentration is maintained at 8 to 10 oz/gal. and temperatures in excess of 160°F. The required cleaning time will depend upon the type and degree of soil on the surfaces and on the concentration and temperature of the solution.

E-Kleen 140 — A powdered mixture of surface-active agents, detergents, suspension agents and builders, which is dissolved in water for the fast, effective cleaning of zinc diecast surfaces without attacking the surfaces.

The highly buffered material contains a very low amount of caustic soda.

E-Kleen 140 is the preferred soak cleaner to be used prior to using E-Kleen 174, an electrocleaner for preparing zinc diecast surfaces prior to plating with E-Brite Ultra Cu, a non-cyanide alkaline copper plating solution for zinc diecast surfaces.

Concentration: 4 to 8 oz/gal of water
Temperature: 160° to 180° F
Immersion Time: 2 to 10 minutes

All Metals E-Kleen 148-E — A liquid emulsifiable alkaline soak cleaner for steel and all metals. This metal cleaner product can be bought online. E-Kleen 148-E is a heavy duty liquid detergent formulation which is very effective at low operating temperatures on all metal surfaces and without etching aluminum. E-Kleen 148-E is an emulsifiable soak metal cleaner and is suited for use on Insta-Blak, plating, and phosphatizing lines. It contains no chelaters.

E-Kleen 148-E is ideal for cleaning metal parts in soak cleaning.

E-Kleen 148-E is a low caustic, emulsifiable (doesn't float oil) cleaner.

Operating Parameters

Concentration: 5 to 12% by volume E-Kleen 148-E
concentrate in water
Temperature: 100° to 150° F

The required cleaning time will depend on the type and degree of soil present on the metal surfaces and on the concentration and temperature of the E-Kleen 148-E solution.

Steel/Copper E-Kleen 151 — A liquid concentrate used at 5-12% by volume in water at 120-200° F. This cleaner will remove fabricating soils, buffing compounds, grease and oils.

All Metals E-Kleen 152 — An all metal, heavy duty, liquid alkaline soak cleaner.

E-Kleen 152 is formulated as a liquid concentrate for ease of handling and automated feed control. The product contains unique combinations of special surfactants and polymers along with alkaline builders to provide excellent scale control, detergency, soil penetration, emulsification and dispersion. The solution eliminates redeposition of soils while providing long bath life.

E-Kleen 152 does not contain chelators, which tie up heavy metals and require special waste treatment. The product is low-foaming and is designed to work with air agitation which facilitates faster cleaning.

E-Kleen 152 is ideal for soak cleaning of steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze, zinc diecast and aluminum. It can remove fabricating soils, light buffing and drawing compounds, grease and oil. Following cleaning, solutions of E-Kleen 152 are easy to rinse from parts.

Operating Parameters

Concentration: 8 to 12% by volume in water
Temperature: 150° to 200° F
Time: 3 to 5 minutes

E-Kleen 154 — An acidic, solvent based, multi-metal cleaner and mild aluminum etchant.

E-Kleen 154 is a liquid concentrate blend of acid, solvent, surfactants and complexers, formulated to achieve in one step, the cleaning and preparation of a variety of metal surfaces prior to blackening, phosphating and chromating. It is recommended for use following conventional alkaline soak cleaners to ensure neutralization of residual alkalinity prior to acidic blackening or oxidizing processes. It is an effective surface conditioner/activator prior to Insta-Blak acidic blackening processes. It will remove light oils, light rust, light heat-treat scale and most shop soils efficiently and quickly. This metal cleaner can be bought online.

E-Kleen 154 cleans aluminum very well with slow, controlled etching of the aluminum surface. It is also a good pre-paint conditioner for steel.

Solution make-up and operationE-Kleen 154 may be used at concentrations ranging from 5 to 50% by volume in water and temperatures from 65° to 140° F. The required concentration, immersion time, and temperature will depend upon the degree and type of soils present and surface oxidation. A 50% by volume concentration is required with heavily oxidized surfaces. Elevated temperatures will reduce the processing time. Agitation of the part(s) or the solution enhances the activity.
